Whiskey Lemonade {with Honey Syrup}

It seems that the more whiskey cocktails I try, the more I like whiskey. A couple we have shared already included the Amaretto Bourbon Punch with Maker’s Mark and the Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Martini. This time we have a Whiskey Lemonade recipe for your spring/summer drinking pleasure, which I find absolutely delicious. And my husband agreed.

I used Temptation’s bourbon whiskey for the drink because it’s what I had at home and I’ve liked it in other drinks so far. It has a good flavor in different whiskey cocktails including the Old Fashioned and the Lion’s Tail Cocktail.

A fresh squeezed lemon creates the lemonade part of the cocktail. Because lemonade has to have some type of lemon, right? I decided to use a fresh squeezed lemon instead of actual lemonade because I didn’t want all of the added sugar. I just wanted the lemon.

For the sweetness, I used honey simple syrup to balance the flavors.

If you wanted to, you could make the honey simple syrup with rosemary to add another dimension to the cocktail.

Either way, a sprig of rosemary makes a nice garnish for both looks and aroma. A few other herbs you could experiment with are basil and mint. Each one would give the drink a slightly different taste.
