Salted Caramel Mocha Cocktail Recipe

Salted Caramel Mocha Cocktail

For the last few months, my Instagram feed has been filled with people posting pictures of their seasonal coffee drinks from Starbucks. One of the more popular drinks seems to be the salted caramel mocha. Of course, that led to the creation of this salted caramel mocha cocktail.

The coffee pictures got me thinking that I could turn this fan favorite into a cocktail. Initially I wanted to make a Salted Caramel Mocha Martini because I liked the way the name flowed. After several attempts I couldn’t get my martinis to taste the way I wanted them.

So, on the very first rainy day this fall season I decided to instead try and make a warm salted caramel mocha cocktail.

This time it was instant success with hot cocoa spiked with Veil’s Double Espresso Vodka and Baileys Caramel Liqueur.

The salted caramel part came from a spoonful of caramel sauce and a pinch of fleur de sel (flaky sea salt). To make this cocktail even better, I rimmed it with caramel sauce and a little bit of the fleur de sel.

(Psst…remember the other espresso cocktails we’ve posted including the Espresso Martini and the Espresso Chai Tea Cocktail…mmmm).

Perfect to warm your bones on those chilly fall and winter evenings.

Salted Caramel Mocha Cocktail

Ingredients

1 1/2 ounces Veil’s Double Espresso Vodka

1 ounce Baileys with a hint of caramel liqueur

Milk of your choice

Cocoa powder

Caramel sauce

Fleur de sel

Preparation

Warm milk of your choice in a pot over the stove. When heated to desired temp, mix in cocoa powder to make chocolate milk.

While milk is heating, rim an Irish coffee mug with caramel sauce and a little bit of fleur de sel.

Add a pinch of salt to bottom of Irish coffee mug and then pour in the espresso vodka and caramel Baileys.

Top with heated chocolate milk.

Get a spoonful of caramel and put that into the warm cocktail.

As you stir the flavors will meld and the caramel will melt.

Makes 1 cocktail.
