Apple Ginger Cocktail {with Absolut Orient Apple vodka}

The fall season is quickly approaching. While I’m not quite ready to give up my summer drinks like the blackberry ginger daiquiri, I am starting to get in the mood for fall cocktails. So, I figured this apple ginger cocktail with Absolut Orient Apple vodka would be a good place to start.

I purchased my bottle of Absolut Orient Apple vodka last year right before Thanksgiving. It tastes of red apples with a ginger punch. The bottle says just add cranberry juice. And I kind of did that with the Thanksgiving Martini I made last year.

But for this Apple Ginger Cocktail, I really wanted to get the flavors of apple and ginger that remind me of fall. To do this, I started with a slice of red apple which I muddled with fresh squeezed lemon. Next I added the booze. Because all cocktails need booze. To top it off, I used Q Ginger Ale. I love the spicy ginger flavor of this ginger ale and the fact that it doesn’t have a bunch of unnecessary ingredients.

According to my husband, the finished drink tasted like a Honeycrisp apple. Since I didn’t have a honeycrisp on hand to compare, I took his word for it. And then I finished the drink. Because it was delicious. And so totally fall inspired.
